Privacy policy — ClimbSheet
ClimbSheet records the ranking shown on Temu's public Best-Selling Items page and displays it as a dated board. This page explains exactly what the extension does with data. Short version: everything stays on your computer.
What ClimbSheet stores
The following is saved in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local),
on your own device only:
- Snapshots — the product titles, image links, prices, price history, units-sold figures, review counts, category labels and product links that Temu publishes on its Best-Selling Items page — saved when you press Capture, and once a day at the hour you pick if you switch on Daily capture.
- Licence state — your trial start date and, if you activate one, your licence key and its expiry date.
Shared history (optional, off by default)
If you switch on Share my snapshots to build shared history, the rows from your own captures are
also written to a database, so every ClimbSheet user can read a longer history than one browser could build. What is
sent, per product per day: product id, date, rank, price, units sold, category, title, image URL, and a random
install_id generated on your device.
- Off means nothing is sent. The switch lives in the toolbar popup and stops uploads immediately.
- No account, email, IP address or browsing history is stored alongside those rows.
install_idis a random string, not a device fingerprint, and clearing extension storage replaces it. - Rows already contributed stay in the shared table after you switch it off or uninstall — they are product facts, not personal data.
- Anyone holding the project's public key can read that table; a shared history only works if it is shared.
What ClimbSheet does not do
- It has no server and does not send the data above anywhere.
- It does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports or advertising identifiers.
- It does not read pages other than Temu pages, and only when you press Capture or when the Daily capture you switched on opens Temu's own Best-Selling Items page.
- It does not record your browsing history: the Daily capture opens one fixed Temu page and closes it.
- It does not sell, rent or share data with third parties.
- It does not collect passwords, payment details or form input.
- Product pages you open on Temu are measured automatically (product id, units sold, price) and kept in this device's history, so sales figures accumulate without clicking. It can be switched off in the popup ("Record every product page I open").
Payments
Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. When you click Subscribe, your browser opens a Stripe-hosted payment page; the card details you enter are processed by Stripe under their privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy) and are never seen by ClimbSheet. Stripe shares with the operator only the email address you provide at checkout and your subscription status, which is used to issue your licence key.
Permissions and why they exist
storage— save snapshots, your Daily capture schedule and your licence state locally.alarms— run the Daily capture you switched on at the hour you chose. Chrome has no server-side timer, so this permission only schedules that local task; with Daily capture off, no alarm exists.scripting— read the ranking data from the Temu page you have open: when you press Capture, or in the background tab the Daily capture opens for a few seconds.tabs— open the rankings board and the checkout page in a tab.- Host permission for
*.temu.com— the extension only works on Temu pages. downloads— only used when you press "Download source images": the product images you asked for are saved to aClimbSheet/folder in your Downloads. Nothing else is downloaded.- Seller Center helper — on
seller.temu.com, if you saved a listing draft in ClimbSheet, a bar offers to fill the create-listing form. It writes only into empty fields, only when you press "Fill fields", and never submits a listing. - Temu page overlay — on a Temu product page the extension reads the product details already displayed (title, price, units sold, rating, brand, store name) to show its analysis panel. This happens locally in the page; nothing is transmitted or stored unless you press "Save to ClimbSheet".
cookies— ClimbSheet checks whether Temu has set its own session cookies so it can show "Signed in to Temu" and tell you whether a capture is running as a signed-in visitor. Only the presence of those cookies is tested; their values are never read, stored or transmitted. ClimbSheet never sees or handles your Temu password — the sign-in button just opens Temu's own login page in a tab.
Retention and deletion
Snapshots stay on your device until you delete them. The popup has Clear stored captures; uninstalling the extension removes all of its data. To have a licence removed from the operator's records, email the support address below.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be published at this URL with a new "last updated" date, and noted in the extension's release notes.
